The Yogi’s Dance

Greetings everyone,

TruroYoga is beginning to wake up from a quieter time. The winter months have been somewhat bleak & restful, and I’ve slowly re-emerged teaching public yoga classes at the Community Center now that Covid restrictions are calming. Being back teaching in the community has been a gift and it has been uplifting to see some of your faces again. Where are the rest of y’all—still hibernating? Life continues to present us heavy experiences with war in Ukraine, housing and economic struggles in the US & worldwide, and growing climate concerns—yet somehow, we continue to cultivate joy and look toward brighter months ahead. Being present to it all—to the devastation and the joyful blossomings—is the yogi’s dance.

Don’t Give Up

Happy New Year Everyone! The holiday time has passed and for many it wasn’t what we hoped for. It would have been amazing to visit with more friends & family yet let’s keep looking forward with faith that 2022 will bring us the chance to safely come together…. don’t give up. The current Covid situation offers us yet again another opportunity to dive deeper within ourselves and recommit to practices that keep our bodies, minds, and spirits feeling strong.

Although there are many significant times throughout the year to align with seasonal or planetary events, whether it be syncing up with the phases of the moon or practicing specific rituals with every turn of a season, the New Year is a particularly awesome time for a fresh start. A time for reflection, renewal, and reinvestment.

You’ve Been Asking and Here It Is

You’ve been asking…and I am very thrilled to announce that our Yoga & Hiking Retreat in Portugal is scheduled for April 22-30, 2022.

Ever since I moved to the Outer Cape and became acquainted with the local Portuguese culture here, taking a group on retreat to Portugal has been on the top of my bucket-list. I am actually surprised that we haven’t traveled there yet—but here we go—it is happening!

Happy September Everyone! I hope you are all enjoying this marvelous weather and these beautiful days. Here in Truro, our posse just experienced the last summer dip into the ocean together on Longnook Beach…and it was exhilarating! TruroYoga has finished-up our outdoor summer classes and we have created our new fall class schedule. The pace of life is beginning to slow down for me and I’ve been deeply invested in a seasonal cleanse for the past 14 days.

Not the kickoff we expected

Oh dear friends how I have been putting this newsletter off…

The uncertainty of these times has been paralyzing in many ways. The sudden changes in my daily existence has shifted from an empty-nester- globetrotting-yogini to prioritizing differently and tending to the important stuff.

Dear Friends

We’ve been feeling it, and we're sure you have too. The slow approach of Autumn, and while I always feel a sadness in the retreat of another season, there is always much to look forward in the next one.
