Don’t Give Up

Happy New Year Everyone!  The holiday time has passed and for many it wasn’t what we hoped for.  It would have been amazing to visit with more friends & family yet let’s keep looking forward with faith that 2022 will bring us the chance to safely come together…. don’t give up. The current Covid situation offers us yet again another opportunity to dive deeper within ourselves and recommit to practices that keep our bodies, minds, and spirits feeling strong.

Although there are many significant times throughout the year to align with seasonal or planetary events, whether it be syncing up with the phases of the moon or practicing specific rituals with every turn of a season, the New Year is a particularly awesome time for a fresh start. A time for reflection, renewal, and reinvestment.

The New Year also welcomes true winter and some really cold days.  For me, I look forward to these colder, quieter months to ease into a steady routine of self-care, walking, yoga, and cooking simple, warming foods.  The summer season and the holidays are full and frenetic so January, February and March are my months on the Cape to slow down and re-boot.  And thankfully it is also during these months that we are gaining more and more moments of light.

Speaking of light, here’s a link to some music that fuels my spirit and a recipe for a quenching and nutritious fresh juice featuring local cranberries.  Whether you are able to forage for fresh cranberries in the dunes of the Outer Cape or buy them at your local market wherever you are, I hope you enjoy this delicious Pineapple Cranberry Ginger Juice packed with potent antioxidants and lots of vitamin C!

Stay tuned for updates on the Schedule as we journey into the New Year.  TruroYoga will be hosting a yoga retreat in Turks & Caicos during the last week of January 2022, so be sure to keep a pulse on the class schedule for when I return home in early February.  If you haven’t checked out the details for our April 2022 Yoga & Hiking Retreat in Portugal, it’s not too late.

What are some soulful rituals that keep you feeling alive and well this time of year? Please write and stay in touch!  And, lastly, if you are looking for some direction with lifestyle changes in 2022, reach out for information on Soulful Wellness Consultations .

Wishing you and your loved ones a healthy & safe year,
