TruroYoga offers inspiring retreats in carefully chosen corners of the world
In creating these unique experiences we spend considerable time researching locations that complement our mission of self-care and community. Providing affordable options ensures that these trips are available to everyone. We calibrate our programs at the highest level of excellence, encompassing yoga in settings that allow participants the ability to access both a state of relaxation + rejuvenation in line with our idea of simple living practices. Each participant is encouraged to enjoy self-care, quiet time, and independent adventures in addition to dynamic group yoga sessions, shared meals and group activities. Each retreat focuses on seva (service) in action by participating in service work with the local community and fostering cultural exchange with the people we meet. In addition to yoga, self-care and seva, we strive to learn about the local culture and history by studying art and architecture in museums and on walking tours, and of course, by savoring local flavors and foods.

Bliss in Baja:
Yoga on the Sea of Cortez, Mexico
February 28 - March 7, 2026
Join us for a week of movement, rest, and connection at Baja Serenity Retreat Center, a thoughtfully designed space offering comfort, community, and breathtaking natural beauty. This five-acre retreat center, created by my good friend Christopher Sliney, sits directly on the Sea of Cortez within the Cabo Pulmo Marine Preserve—a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its thriving sea life and pristine coastline.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be surrounded by the rhythms of Baja—the morning sun rising over the sea, the sound of waves meeting the shore, and the vast desert sky glittering with stars. Within the retreat center, you’ll have full access to the plunge pool, hot tub, yoga pavilion, dining palapa, and sky deck, all designed to foster both connection and solitude. You’re just steps from a quiet, stunning beach and a short walk from the charming village of Cabo Pulmo.
Our days will flow with daily yoga, nourishing meals, and open-ended possibilities for adventure and deep rest. Activities will unfold organically, shaped by the weather, the sea, and the energy of the group. Some of the experiences we’ve embraced in past years include hiking to scenic overlooks, a medicine circle, a sound bath, wine tastings with rare and regional selections, and unforgettable encounters with the migrating humpback and grey whales. While we can’t predict exactly what awaits us in 2026, we know it will be special.
And don’t forget the food—our private culinary team will craft each meal with the freshest ingredients, ensuring every bite is as nourishing as the retreat itself.

TruroYoga in Georgia:
A Cultural Retreat in the Heart of the Caucasus
October 4 - 11, 2026
This is not your average yoga retreat.
We’re journeying to Georgia—the country, not the state—a place where hospitality is more than tradition; it’s sacred. In Georgian culture, a guest is seen as a blessing, and to welcome someone is a deeply held joy. It’s this spirit that will greet us as we travel from the vibrant, cobbled streets of Tbilisi to the mountain-shadowed villages and sun-soaked vineyards of Kakheti.
This retreat is a true collaboration with Keta Botkoveli, a lifelong Georgian and archaeologist with a deep love for her country and an extraordinary gift for sharing it. With her warmth, wisdom, and long-standing relationships across the region, Keta will accompany us throughout the week—opening doors to places and people we’d never encounter on our own. She’ll guide us through family-run wineries, artisan studios, ancient monasteries, and lively feasts, bringing Georgia to life from the inside out. More than a guide, she is our host and our bridge, ensuring that every step of the journey feels personal, welcoming, and beautifully supported.
Together, we’ll move through this landscape with intention—anchored by daily yoga, moments of reflection, and immersive experiences that invite us to listen, taste, learn, and connect. And in many ways, this is what yoga is always seeking: a direct path to truth, to presence, to what’s real and meaningful. That’s the heart of TruroYoga retreats—to go beyond the surface, into places and moments that are intimate, unexpected, and alive. With this retreat, and this collaboration, we’ve found just that.
A Journey Through Georgia
Over the course of seven nights, we’ll follow a thoughtfully paced itinerary shaped by Keta’s deep local knowledge and lifelong connection to the land. Our path will guide us through two distinct regions: the capital city of Tbilisi, where an eclectic mix of cultures and eras reveals itself through winding alleyways, vibrant markets, and an ever-evolving food and design scene; and the Kakheti wine region, a cradle of ancient winemaking and rural tradition, nestled at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains.
In Tbilisi, Georgia’s urban heart, we’ll feel the pulse of a city that blends European elegance with soulful history. It’s a place where crumbling facades stand beside bold modern design, where ancient bathhouses neighbor jazz clubs, and where a growing digital nomad community adds a fresh creative spark to the old-world charm. We’ll explore the old town on foot, wander from winding alleyways to contemporary cafés, and take in sweeping views from hilltop lookouts reached by cable car and funicular. We’ll soak in traditional sulfur baths, dine on elegant local cuisine, and be swept into the rhythm of Georgian life—often accompanied by music, warmth, and the unmistakable joy of coming together around a table.
While based in Tbilisi, we’ll also take a day trip to Mtskheta, Georgia’s ancient capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There, we’ll visit the 6th-century Jvari Monastery perched above a river confluence and the breathtaking Svetitskhoveli Cathedral—both central to Georgia’s spiritual and cultural history.
Then, we’ll venture into Kakheti, where life moves to the pace of the land. We’ll join in the grape harvest and take part in a centuries-old ritual of crushing fruit, learn the art of Georgian winemaking and artisan craft, and spend time with potters, wool artists, felt painters, cheesemakers, and cooks—each generously sharing their skills and stories. Our meals will take place in homes, monasteries, vineyards, and tucked-away kitchens—each one an invitation into Georgian tradition, made vivid through flavor, connection, and celebration.

Yoga & Gastronomy Retreat:
Basque Country, Spain
May 18th - 25th, 2024
This latest collaboration with Yoga & Adventures Worldwide is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Christina has crafted and curated an absolutely remarkable itinerary, a journey for all your senses, where you won’t be able to resist thinking, Wow, Pinch Me! Basque Country is rich in art and architecture, and known for its breathtaking landscapes and stunning vistas, outstanding cuisine, and world-renowned wines. We will get a taste for all the extravagant specialties and adventures while still coming together as a group each day to balance and digest with a soulful, restful yoga session.
To kick-off the retreat, we will travel to the seaside resort town of San Sebastián on the shimmering bay of La Concha. Made famous by the royals and elites during La Belle Époque era, San Sebastián is known as a vibrant cultural hub with majestic buildings, a charming atmosphere, and picturesque sandy beaches. We’ll stay in a gorgeous water-front boutique hotel, walk the cobblestone streets, and tour the famous pintxo bars, where local wines are paired with tasty bite-sized delights. We’ll also have the opportunity to dine at Amelia, a 2 Michelin star restaurant as well as experience a cooking class highlighting traditional Basque foods.
Our next stop will be Rioja, Basque’s famous wine region, where we’ll hike beautiful vineyards, taste the most delectable red wines, and deepen our understanding of exceptional wine-making. While there, we’ll settle into the medieval walled-town of Laguardia. With the lovely Cantabrian Mountains in the near distance and lush rolling green vineyards surrounding the small town, Laguardia is said to be the most attractive town in the region. We’ll see architecture from many eras—Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and Neoclassical—and cozy up at the end of the day in our Posada, an old Viana Palace built in 1619, to enjoy some time conversing and connecting with our local hosts.
And it even gets better…if you join us for the additional day, we’ll end the retreat with a visit to Bilbao’s iconic Guggenheim. This gleaming titanium and glass museum, designed by Frank Gehry, is home to a vast collection of 20th century artworks. We’ll spend a night in Bilbao with a full day exploring the museum, taking in all the sights, and enjoying our meals in, yet again, spectacular top-notch restaurants.
Best wine, second-to-none food, exquisite art and architecture, and six (or seven) days adventuring with people who share a love for travel, food, culture and yoga…you won’t want to miss this retreat to Basque Country!

Sardinia 2023
Another successful collaboration with Christina Thomas of Yoga & Adventures Worldwide… May 2023 Retreat to Sardinia!
We had a spectacular spring retreat in Sardinia! It was everything we hoped it would be—delightful, fun, adventurous, and truly majestic. The retreat itinerary, custom-crafted by Y&AWW, was exquisitely balanced with yoga practices each day, incredible day trips and unique excursions, and plenty of time to kickback & relax. Our amazing group of yogi travelers spent six nights and seven days enjoying serene beach life, beautiful vistas, ancient ruins & history lessons, pasta-making, an abundance of traditional food, and a lot of authentic experiences with the local people. It was a trip to remember—can’t forget the wine & olive tastings, guided Moon Valley hiking, and luxury boating to the Magdalena Islands!
The mountainous Italian island of Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, and there sure is a lot to explore. Known for its incredible rock formations, pristine beaches and delicious foods, it is no surprise that Sardinia is a blue zone, a region where people live longer than average. If you didn’t get the chance to join us on this retreat, stay tuned for the next retreat with TruroYoga!
PORTUGAL 2022

TruroYoga truly enjoyed for our Spring 2022 retreat to PORTUGAL and the opportunity to collaborate and co-host a retreat with our long-time friend Christina Thomas, Founder of Yoga Worldwide Adventures.
Our week kicked-off with three nights in Lisbon enjoying the local culture, exploring historical landmarks, and tasting delicious Portuguese food and wine. From Lisbon, we day-tripped to the lovely hill town of Sintra to see ruins of a Moorish castle, incredible villas and uniquely whimsical palaces. Daily yoga sessions gently supported the pace of our travel and complimented the itinerary.
During the second half of our retreat, we headed southwest to Costa Vicentina, the wild, undisturbed destination known for its remarkable cliffs, stunning beaches and crashing waves. Surrounded by this breath-taking nature, our group settled into four relaxing nights at the renowned and exquisite hotel & restaurant, Herdade da Matinha. From this intimate homestead, we ventured out to hike the beautiful coastline, unwind on the beach, and discover Alentejado National Park. Each day offered a sweet balance of rest and play, as we enjoyed flowing & restorative yoga sessions with plenty of time for self-care by the pool and connecting with one another over garden-crafted meals.

Testimonials
“I am most grateful to have joined two of TruroYoga’s yoga retreats-in Colombia and in Peru. I have traveled the world quite extensively, both as a business traveler and as a leisure traveler, and these retreat experiences are a unique and enjoyable opportunity to practice yoga in a beautiful environment, to learn about the local culture and history, to eat good food, and, most of all to have fun with a group of likeminded individuals under the guidance of the lovely and delightful, Genevieve. Truly, once-in-a-lifetime experiences!”

“Genevieve’s teaching style is truly unique and inspirational. I love how she incorporates laughter, humor, movement, fluidity, and pure joy into all her classes. She has a natural ability to read the room and find the flow. I‘ve had the distinct honor of learning from her on retreats in Tuscany, Morocco, Nicaragua and Colombia, as well as private classes in the comfort of my own home. What an amazing human being and teacher. I am humbled and invigorated by her classes and teachings, and will continue to return again and again. ”
