TruroYoga offers inspiring retreats in carefully chosen corners of the world

In creating these unique experiences we spend considerable time researching locations that complement our mission of self-care and community. Providing affordable options ensures that these trips are available to everyone. We calibrate our programs at the highest level of excellence, encompassing yoga in settings that allow participants the ability to access both a state of relaxation + rejuvenation in line with our idea of simple living practices. Each participant is encouraged to enjoy self-care, quiet time, and independent adventures in addition to dynamic group yoga sessions, shared meals and group activities. Each retreat focuses on seva (service) in action by participating in service work with the local community and fostering cultural exchange with the people we meet. In addition to yoga, self-care and seva, we strive to learn about the local culture and history by studying art and architecture in museums and on walking tours, and of course, by savoring local flavors and foods.

Sea, Sun & Slow Living Retreat: Santorini, Greece

September 13 -19, 2026

Santorini is one of those places you feel like you already know — the light and shadow across the whitewashed buildings, the volcanic landscape, and the deep blue of the Aegean Sea. It’s the kind of place you’ve seen a hundred times in photos, and still, something about being there in person feels different.

It’s somewhere I’ve long wanted to go, and I still can’t quite believe that this retreat will bring me there. This will be TruroYoga’s latest collaboration with Yoga Adventures Worldwide, a team I’ve partnered with year after year, retreat after retreat. There’s a reason we continue to work together. Our values align, and their long-standing local relationships and deep familiarity with the island and it's people will allow us to experience it in a way that feels beyond the surface.

There’s no denying Santorini’s popularity. It’s on many people’s bucket list. But this retreat isn’t about checking a place off a list. It’s about how you experience it. This week will unfold at a rhythm that feels more attuned to the island — slower, more intentional. Our mornings begin with yoga overlooking the caldera, grounding and spacious. From there, the days open up naturally — time to explore, to swim, to wander through the villages, or simply sit and take it all in. We’ll come back together in the evenings for shared meals, conversation, and the kind of moments that stay with you long after the week is over.

Embodied: The Art of Being Seen: El Cuyo, Mexico

February 14-20, 2027

Our first Embodied Retreat was one of those experiences that stayed with me long after I returned home. What unfolded over the course of the week was joyful, intimate, surprising, and deeply moving—and I knew almost immediately that I wanted to share it again with another group of women.

We are returning to El Cuyo, a small coastal town on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, where life moves at a slower rhythm. Our home for the week will be Utopia, Yoga Adventures Worldwide’s beachfront guesthouse and yoga studio—a beautiful, cozy, simple space created for gathering, practicing, resting, and settling into the ease of life by the sea.

Embodied is an invitation to step away from daily life and reconnect with yourself through yoga, movement, rest, warm ocean water, meaningful conversation, and the experience of being seen through Rachel Gray’s extraordinary photography. Our days are spacious and nourishing, with time to explore El Cuyo by bicycle, swim, receive a massage, take part in local ceremonies, or simply do very little.

At the heart of the Retreat is the opportunity to become more comfortable in your own skin—not by trying to change yourself or perform for the camera, but by softening, becoming present, and allowing yourself to be seen exactly as you are. The first Embodied Retreat was transformative for me and for the women who shared it. I am so happy to return to El Cuyo and create the space for that experience to unfold again.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

  • Six nights of beachfront accommodations at Utopia: El Cuyo Guesthouse & Yoga Studio

  • Daily breakfast, three lunches, and four dinners

  • Embodied yoga practices throughout the week

  • A playful photography session designed to help you become comfortable in front of the camera

  • A private 90-minute photography session with Rachel Gray

  • A personal image consultation with Rachel

  • Five professionally retouched digital images, delivered 10–12 weeks after the Retreat

  • A sunset bicycle ride through El Cuyo

  • A guided temazcal and cacao ceremony

  • One 75-minute healing massage

  • A Mexican mud ceremony on the beach

  • Bicycles, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards available throughout the week

  • All hotel taxes and fees

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED

  • Airfare and airport transfers

  • Two lunches and one dinner

  • Gratuities for the house staff and massage therapist

  • Additional excursions or massages

  • Additional photographs or prints

Camino de Santiago: A Yoga and Reflections Retreat

September 19-28, 2027

Vigo to Santiago de Compostela, Spain

For more than a thousand years, people have walked the Camino de Santiago as a pilgrimage. Ours will not be a religious pilgrimage, but a pilgrimage of attention: an opportunity to slow down, to notice, and to experience what happens when our days become as simple as walking, eating, resting, and beginning again.

Together, Truro Yoga and Yoga & Adventures Worldwide will make our way from Vigo to Santiago de Compostela, walking the final stretch of the Portuguese Way. Our days will unfold mostly on foot. We’ll set out in the morning, find our own pace along the way, and arrive each evening somewhere new, with beautiful accommodations, good food, and time to rest waiting for us at the end of the trail.

Yoga will be woven into the rhythm of the journey. Each morning, we’ll begin with simple movement to prepare our bodies for the day ahead, and each day we’ll walk with a prompt, something to carry with us as we move. There will be time for conversation, time to walk alone, and one longer stretch of walking in silence. At the end of the day, we’ll come together again for restorative movement, journaling, sketching, rest, and conversation.

This is a chance to experience the Camino at walking pace, with enough space to pay attention to the landscape, to our bodies, to one another, and to whatever we may notice along the way.

What’s Included

  • 9 nights in thoughtfully chosen hotels, traditional Galician pazos, and other distinctive accommodations

  • Six days of walking, approximately 110 km / 68 miles in total

  • Daily luggage transfer, so you walk with only a day pack

  • Daily yoga, movement, meditation, and journaling

  • A full rest day in Caldas de Reis

  • Breakfast daily, 2 lunches, and 8 dinners

  • Two-hour Pilgrim Ritual spa treatment and water circuits in Santiago

  • Opening and closing circles

  • Official pilgrim credential

  • Journal and Yoga & Adventures Worldwide gift bag

  • Support throughout the journey, including taxi assistance when needed

  • All local taxes

What’s Not Included

  • Airfare

  • Transportation to Vigo and onward travel from Santiago

  • Meals not listed above

  • Optional activities and additional spa treatments

  • Travel and medical insurance

  • Personal expenses

Accommodations

Part of the pleasure of this journey will be where we land at the end of each day. No two nights will look quite the same. We’ll stay in characterful country houses and traditional Galician pazos, with gardens, pools, and places to rest tired legs, finishing with two nights at a Relais & Châteaux hotel and spa in Santiago de Compostela.

I’ve imagined walking the Camino for a long time. To have the opportunity to do it this way, in partnership with Yoga & Adventures Worldwide, and to share the experience with a small group feels particularly special. I hope you’ll join me.

Sardinia 2023

Another successful collaboration with Christina Thomas of Yoga & Adventures Worldwide… May 2023 Retreat to Sardinia!

We had a spectacular spring retreat in Sardinia!  It was everything we hoped it would be—delightful, fun, adventurous, and truly majestic.  The retreat itinerary, custom-crafted by Y&AWW, was exquisitely balanced with yoga practices each day, incredible day trips and unique excursions, and plenty of time to kickback & relax.  Our amazing group of yogi travelers spent six nights and seven days enjoying serene beach life, beautiful vistas, ancient ruins & history lessons, pasta-making, an abundance of traditional food, and a lot of authentic experiences with the local people.  It was a trip to remember—can’t forget the wine & olive tastings, guided Moon Valley hiking, and luxury boating to the Magdalena Islands!

The mountainous Italian island of Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, and there sure is a lot to explore.  Known for its incredible rock formations, pristine beaches and delicious foods, it is no surprise that Sardinia is a blue zone, a region where people live longer than average.  If you didn’t get the chance to join us on this retreat, stay tuned for the next retreat with TruroYoga!

PORTUGAL 2022

TruroYoga truly enjoyed for our Spring 2022 retreat to PORTUGAL and the opportunity to collaborate and co-host a retreat with our long-time friend Christina Thomas, Founder of Yoga Worldwide Adventures.

Our week kicked-off with three nights in Lisbon enjoying the local culture, exploring historical landmarks, and tasting delicious Portuguese food and wine. From Lisbon, we day-tripped to the lovely hill town of Sintra to see ruins of a Moorish castle, incredible villas and uniquely whimsical palaces. Daily yoga sessions gently supported the pace of our travel and complimented the itinerary.

During the second half of our retreat, we headed southwest to Costa Vicentina, the wild, undisturbed destination known for its remarkable cliffs, stunning beaches and crashing waves. Surrounded by this breath-taking nature, our group settled into four relaxing nights at the renowned and exquisite hotel & restaurant, Herdade da Matinha. From this intimate homestead, we ventured out to hike the beautiful coastline, unwind on the beach, and discover Alentejado National Park. Each day offered a sweet balance of rest and play, as we enjoyed flowing & restorative yoga sessions with plenty of time for self-care by the pool and connecting with one another over garden-crafted meals.

Testimonials

“I am most grateful to have joined two of TruroYoga’s yoga retreats-in Colombia and in Peru.  I have traveled the world quite extensively, both as a business traveler and as a leisure traveler, and these retreat experiences are a unique and enjoyable opportunity to practice yoga in a beautiful environment, to learn about the local culture and history, to eat good food, and, most of all to have fun with a group of likeminded individuals under the guidance of the lovely and delightful, Genevieve.   Truly, once-in-a-lifetime experiences!”

“Genevieve’s teaching style is truly unique and inspirational. I love how she incorporates laughter, humor, movement, fluidity, and pure joy into all her classes. She has a natural ability to read the room and find the flow. I‘ve had the distinct honor of learning from her on retreats in Tuscany, Morocco, Nicaragua and Colombia, as well as private classes in the comfort of my own home. What an amazing human being and teacher. I am humbled and invigorated by her classes and teachings, and will continue to return again and again. ”
