Experience India on a Grace & Shakti Retreat with Genevieve & Ram
January 24 – February 3, 2020
In the modern world of wellness, a balanced, holistic, mind-body-spirit approach is widely agreed upon as an ideal combination for living a healthy life, but in what way is self-knowledge related to the care of the body and mind? While yoga and mediation are heralded as key components of good living practices, how exactly does yoga, meditation and kirtan support this bridge to self-knowledge and care?
In this 10-day retreat, Genevieve Morin and Adam Ram Charan join forces for an in-depth exploration into this question. Understood and practiced properly, these two aspects provide for a powerful way of navigating our human lives with the ultimate gift being a combined sense of completeness, passion, presence and transcendence. Both Ram and Genevieve bring their veritable knowledge, practice and talents to lead sessions in yoga, meditation, Somatic Movement Education and Kirtan.
We are very grateful to be able to host this retreat at Ashok Tree Nature Resort and Wellness Center located in the vicinity of the sacred Arunachula Hill in Tamil Nadu. Surrounded by nature, an extensive organic orchard and garden, you’ll be greeted by an exceptional team of Ayurvedic therapists. Each participant will have a consultation with the Ayruvedic doctor on site and two sessions of treatment. We will also have an opportunity to learn more about traditional Vedic views on health and wellness by the doctor.
Special guest speakers and teachers from the local community have also been invited to address topics relevant to our retreat’s theme and the spiritual folklore related to Arunachala Hill. Vedic experts from the Arunachaleshwar Temple will lead us in traditional yangas or fire ceremonies. We will also have the opportunity to practice Seva Yoga as Ashok Tree Nature Resort fosters community development through its educational programs, animal welfare, and environmental sustainability.
Located on 13 acres of land on the outskirts of Tiruvannamalai, their many fields are dedicated to orchards and farming, and animal rescue. Their mission is to encourage their yoga retreat participants to reconnect with nature. There are many reasons Ashok Tree stood out to us as the perfect place to host a retreat in India, but one of them is that they donate a portion of their proceeds back into the local community.
