Light Up Your Spirit

October 5th- October 12th, 2019

From colorful city illuminations to hidden sandy coves, our October retreat offering combines cosmopolitan flair and old world charm with two of Spain’s sparkling jewels, Barcelona and enchanting island of Menorca.

“Allow me to state here how much I love Barcelona, an admirable city, a city full of life, intense, a port open to the past and future.” – Le Corbusier

Time to retreat and relax in Menorca where a luxurious 17th Century villa awaits you. Located near the entrance of scenic Port Mahon and surrounded by turquoise seas, the villa’s architecture reflects the history of successive Moorish, English, French and finally Spanish occupations. Appointed with style and comfort, verdant gardens and a pristine pool to sunbathe and practice yoga by, the villa’s unspoiled view to the Mediterranean sea is accessible via a 15 minute walk or bike ride across a natural Menorcan landscape. A private cabin on the coast has been equipped with beach furniture for our use.

Spend your days on one of the endless beaches, sandy hidden bays along the tree-fringed coast.  A fantastic set of hiking trails called the “Cami de Cavalls” provides a great opportunity for us to walk the shores or visit one of the seven lighthouses that surround the island. In the evenings, a chef will prepare four of our dinner meals while we will have rental cars for those who want to venture out and sample the island’s famous lobster stew on free nights.  As we love learning about the food we eat on these retreats, we have been fortunate enough to enlist the services of Chef Max Gonzalvo Garcia who will take us market shopping and teach us typical Menorcan fare at his restaurant, Arjau.  Lastly, we’ll be able to practice seva yoga with Sunni, who runs the Menorcan Donkey Rescue on the island, completing a culturally rich travel experience!
